Most Romanians Disagree With Sending Romanian Soldiers Abroad
Bucharest. Most Romanians do not agree with Romanian peacekeeping contingents being present in turbulent regions around the world, sociological research data show cited by Rompres. According to the results 54% of the surveyed do not approve of sending Romanian military missions abroad and 46% share the opposite opinion. However, at the same time 47% of the surveyed take the side of President Traian Basescu in the dispute with Prime Minister Calin Popescu Tariceanu about the pullout of the Romanian contingent from Iraq. 44% do not back up either of the two participants in the political conflict. |
