Papariga meets Portuguese delegation

The situation prevailing in the Middle East dominated talks held on Wednesday between a Greek Communist Party (KKE) delegation, headed by party leader Aleka Papariga, and a Portuguese Communist Party delegation, headed by its Secretary General Jeronimo de Sousa. According to an announcement by KKE, the two delegations exchanged views on the situation prevailing in the two countries and the problems faced by working people "due to the assault they are sustaining from the forces of capital" and the response of the popular labour movement. Also discussed, according to the announcement, was the situation prevailing internationally, and in the Middle East in particular, while they also expressed solidarity for the struggling peoples of Lebanon and Palestine and for the "pacifist forces of resistance that are active in Israel."
